Mounting a giraffe skeleton for Marwell Zoo in Hampshire.

In 2021 Nigel Larkin was asked by Marwell Zoo in Hampshire to articulate and mount the skeleton of an adult giraffe that had recently died. This individual was 4.5m tall. Nigel fabricated a suitable bespoke steel armature that could be dismantled and transported, secured this to a sturdy base on wheels that he made, and mounted the bones of the animal on this. He installed the specimen at Marwell Zoo in August 2021.
